Do you ever find yourself struggling to find a good, smooth, easy way to insert your business into a conversation?
One question that our website visitors ask us all the time is, “How do I have a conversation about my business that feels natural … not weird, not fake, not inauthentic and not cliche?” Building your business by talking to people is still a thing.
Let’s not forget that if you approached someone every single day, you would never run out of prospects. You might have the best opportunity in the world, but if you don’t know how to have quick conversations to share it, then you will not be able to grow your business.
Have you ever felt flat out confused or lost when it comes to striking up a conversation about your business… especially when you are talking to people who know WAY LESS about your industry than you do! Think about neighbors, or friends and even random people that you interact with … like people who follow you on social media, or friends of friends.
We totally understand that it’s not usually easy to bring up the subject and then to say enough to get your prospect interested. How would it feel if you knew exactly how to have a MICRO conversation with people about your business that felt natural … not weird, not fake, not inauthentic, not cliche? Once we learned how to do it… it felt soooo good!
You’re not alone. One of the most challenging things about being a part of an MLM or a Network Marketing business is finding the best way to talk to people about your opportunity. Most people are immediately turned off when they hear something like, “I have a great opportunity to tell you about.” We don’t even want to hear that line and we’re a part of this industry!

Easy and Common Mistakes
These are some common mistakes that people make when they are prospecting people about their business opportunity and products. Don’t feel bad if you are making these mistakes; just be aware of them and open to change.
- They don’t have a short statement about what they do and they don’t have a simple way to describe what they do.
- They talk way too much. When they get the break to talk about what they do, they can’t stop talking. They tell everything about the business and the products and give an actual presentation during the conversation. They don’t stop to take a breath or come up for air! Their prospect is left confused and overwhelmed.
- They don’t ask questions. They just dominate the conversation and don’t allow the prospect to talk.
